COHOUSING: AN EASY SOLUTION
Newcomers to Brussels will have a lot of housing options to choose from. Cohousing is no longer a student living arrangement and has become a sophisticated option for professionals moving to the city.
With thousands of newcomers to Brussels every year many of whom come from abroad, cohousing has developed as an easy way to enter the Brussels housing market.
Cohousing offers short-term, often 6 month minimum leases which can include utilities and extra costs or not. Common areas are shared among residents while bedrooms and often times bathrooms are individual.
At Morton Place our leases are all inclusive, meaning you have no extra costs.
Our alumni have worked at a variety of companies and institutions including Bain& Co, BCG, Alten and Netflix to name a few, and let’s not forget the numerous stagiaires from the European Commission and the Parliament!
We ensure there is a variety of profiles in each house, keeping an eye on gender parity, languages spoken and a healthy age range.
WHY CHOOSE MORTON PLACE?
Morton Place offers small scale cohousing options in Brussels. They serve as wonderful alternatives to serviced apartments, Airbnb and long-stay hotels.
We never have more than 10 people in a house and everyone has their own private bathroom with shower, sink, toilet and storage.
Our cohousing homes are refurbished traditional Brussels townhouses, each one renovated to a high standard and with a unique design and theme to give it a personality that helps it stand out.
We also offer you a friendly introduction to your housemates and the local community.
With 24/7 support no question is too small, we have supported hundreds of residents navigate their arrival to Brussels successfully.
Our house manager lives off-site to give you a private living experience, but will always be available to help with anything around the house be it a repair or a request that you have. They’ll also inform you of the best local destinations to visit and offer assistance throughout your stay with Morton Place.
YOUR LIFE AT MORTON PLACE
Every resident at Morton Place has their own private living space but also shares a large common area that includes facilities such as a generous kitchen, a big communal table and several private areas.
New residents are assigned a “buddy” who answers any questions as they settle into their new community. We provide handy maps and our tips on your new neighborhood.
Guests are always welcome to visit and can even stay in the house guest room free of charge.
We understand that in order for our cohousing spaces to be comfortable and successful for everyone, we need to balance privacy and community to offer the best living experience.
Although each resident has a private room to retreat to, privacy at Morton Place doesn’t mean confining yourself to your own room.
Most residents stay with us for a little over 2 years, but we allow leases for minimum 6 months. You will leave with great memories and “friends for life.”
